Frequently asked questions
How many PPL theory exams are there?
For the EASA and UK CAA PPL(A) there are nine theory exams, one per subject, and you need 75% in each. The FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test is a single 60-question test with a 70% pass mark. Pocket Pilot covers every subject for both.
How close are the mock exams to the real thing?
For EASA and the UK CAA, each subject's mock uses the real paper's question count, time limit and pass mark. For the FAA, the full mock matches the Knowledge Test: 60 questions in 2.5 hours, 70% to pass. Afterwards you can review every answer, with an explanation and its source.
Which exam authorities does Pocket Pilot cover?
EASA, the UK CAA and the FAA. You pick your syllabus when you start and can switch any time in Settings. Progress is tracked separately for each.
